Family and Community
Farber has called Denham Springs home since 1998. He and his wife of 34 years, Kathryn Watson Farber, raised their two children, Watson Stuart Farber and Carson Kate Farber, in the community. Over the years, he has coached many local young people through PARDS baseball and basketball. He also coached youth football with the Denham Jackets and Southside Patriots.
Law Experience
Farber began his legal career as an attorney for the Louisiana Department of Public Safety. In that role, he represented the Louisiana State Police, including the Bureau of Investigations, Detectives and Narcotics personnel, the Concealed Handgun Permit Section, the Criminal Records Section, and Internal Affairs. He also represented the Office of Motor Vehicles in driver’s-license suspension matters and vehicle-title litigation.
Farber later served as an attorney for the Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice, where he handled juvenile secure-care hearings and related litigation. He currently serves as Director of Legal Affairs and Compliance for the Metropolitan Human Services District in New Orleans. MHSD operates behavioral health clinics serving people with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Orleans, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard parishes.
Louisiana State Bar Honors
The Louisiana State Bar Association has recognized Farber’s service with two of its most distinguished honors: the Citizen Lawyer Award and the Pro Bono Publico Award. These awards recognize outstanding service to the community as both a lawyer and a citizen.
